Revolutionary War Veteran, Information, Butler County VA Office The Founder of Evans City, PA per the "History of Butler County," 1895, p. 417. In 1836, Robert BOGGS sold 200 acres of his farm and his mill to a young man named Thomas B. EVANS, who with his wife, joined the settlement on Breakneck creek. EVANS built a new mill in 1838, laid out a village, and was playing the part of a modern town builder when death called him away in 1841.
